Positive ANECA evaluation for Profesor Contratado Doctor and Profesor de Universidad Privada

Hello dear readers,

Some good news this week: ANECA, Spain’s national agency for quality assessment and accreditation, has given me a positive evaluation for two faculty figures: Profesor Contratado Doctor (PCD) and Profesor de Universidad Privada (PUP).

I applied in May. The evaluation committee met on 14 October, and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities certified the resolutions on 27 October. In Spain, these evaluations are what a university needs before it can hire you in those positions, so it’s a step I wanted to take care of before anything else.

Nothing changes in my day-to-day. I’m still at IE University, teaching Python and applied mathematics in the Bachelor in Applied Mathematics, and working on weather routing, climate risk for insurance and interpretable neural networks. I just have one more box ticked.

Thanks to my colleagues at IE, to my co-authors over these years, and to my students, who make me explain things properly. The accreditations are also listed on my experience page.

All the best,

Daniel Precioso, PhD
